“What’s For Dinner?…’Wonton Salad’!”

♥Hi Friends!

With the last few months of craziness in my home, I’ve done a lot of “fly-by meals” (and many more than normal trips to In-&-Out) with the precious little time I’ve had.  And I suspect I’m not the only one who understands “craziness” and “precious little time” huh!?!  We are women, doing our best to juggle all that life throws at us, along with caring for ourselves, our families, and all the world around us. “EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY Children…& a recipe for ‘Gran’s Soup’.”

♥Hi Friends!

(Don’t ask about my grandbaby.  I just keep reminding myself that patience is a virtue!)  Now I want to state right out of the gate that we are far from perfect in the parenting department, let alone experts on “EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY children”.  Continue reading “EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY Children…& a recipe for ‘Gran’s Soup’.”

“What to do about School Lunch…& a recipe for ‘Homemade Salsa’.”

♥Hi Friends!

No grandbaby yet.  Patience is a virtue, huh!?!  Now on with my promised school lunch post…

My kids haven’t eaten a school lunch in years.  I just cannot bear to send my babies out in to the big wide world, empty handed, only to be forced to eat the toxic, processed food they serve in the school cafeteria. Continue reading “What to do about School Lunch…& a recipe for ‘Homemade Salsa’.”

“Patience is a Virtue…& a recipe for “Grandma Katie’s Red Lentil Stew’.”

♥Hi Friends!

From what I can gather through a Google search, the first known publishing of the quote “Patience is a Virtue” was from a poem written between 1360 and 1387.  And according to scripture it would seem that Cain struggled with it clear back at the beginning, so it appears to have been a problem for a very long time! “It’s my one vice!…& a recipe for ‘Green Power Smoothie’.”

♥Hi Friends!

I’ve had some thoughts on my mind recently and they start with a question and it’s this, “How many times have you heard (or said) the words ‘It’s my one vice’ when someone speaks about a Diet Coke or Dr. Pepper or any carbonated beverage?”  It often comes with a defiant, rebellious, even proud tone.  I mean we should at least be willing to recognize and call it what it really is.  An addiction.   Continue reading “It’s my one vice!…& a recipe for ‘Green Power Smoothie’.”

“Food is Medicine and a Little about Basil…& a recipe for ‘Yummy Roasted Tomato & Basil Soup’.”

♥Hi Friends!

Well, summer really has come to a close (almost) with the Labor Day weekend behind us.  And let me tell you that spending time in the mountains this holiday reminded me once again that Heavenly Father’s creations are HEALING!  The mountains are one of the most HEALING places for me (everybody really).  There’s lots of good energy floatin’ around up there from not only the Sun and Earth, but the plants, critters, rivers, etc (not to mention we are up and out of all the interference from our “electronic devices”) and I feel completely energized when I’m in them. “HEALING with Mother Nature: Part 2-EARTH…& a recipe for ‘Mango Pineapple Smoothie or Popsicles’.”

♥Hi Friends!

Mother Nature and the gifts Heavenly Father has blessed her with are awesome and amazing!  The more I learn about the nature of His HEALING power, I appreciate more and more all the resources around me, that He has created, that HEAL and bless me and those I love.  This post (Earth), and my last (Sun), are about two of His big ones! Continue reading “HEALING with Mother Nature: Part 2-EARTH…& a recipe for ‘Mango Pineapple Smoothie or Popsicles’.”

“HEALING with Mother Nature: Part 1-SUN…& a recipe for ‘Maple Garlic Brussels Sprouts’.”

♥Hi Friends!

Just about one official month of summer left and I have neglected to get out my Sun & Earth posts!  And for those of us who live in a four seasons’ climate, we will soon have a harder time getting our daily dose of the great outdoors.  Unless of course this Fall and Winter are anything like last year’s here in Utah.  Beeeeeeeeautiful!  (I love Winter, and the beautiful snow, but I’m not gonna lie.  I kind of enjoyed not scraping off my windows and sidewalks as much as the previous years!)
